Fluid Movement Practice is an open-level movement class designed to develop physical skill, confidence and creative intuition. Drawing inspiration from contemporary dance, martial arts, tricking and soft acrobatics this class blends the 3 elements: body preparation, technical training, and movement research to foster the cultivation of an ever-curious mindset as well as a fluid, receptive and responsive body.

In this class, we’ll explore movement as a way of expression, combining the fundamentals of modern Shaolin Kung Fu with contemporary dance and acrobatics. Together, we’ll work on finding flow between softness and explosiveness while building strength, flexibility, and coordination.

We’ll also bring in some exciting elements like practicing with staff and sword, implementing them into our choreographies. Along the way, we’ll include meditative practices originating from chinese Qi Gong and Tai Chi to help ground us.

This class explores the interconnections between contemporary dance/ floorwork, improvisation, embodied practices, and partner work.

By beginning with a grounding warm-up, we establish a shared practice connecting to the floor, enhancing body awareness and stability.

As limits create freedom, this class aims to offer knowledge of contemporary dance training as a structure that calls to be broken and rearranged playfully through improvisation. We integrate movement qualities into floorwork phrases and gradually introduce dynamic partner work, fostering trust in a supportive environment.

Collaboratively, we aim to create and hold a safe space where we can all explore, play, surprise ourselves and grow together.

This class focuses on extracting the core principles and physics behind acrobatic movement. We dive into topics such as: using momentum and gravity, weight distribution, rolling and inversions. The technical movements taught in this class derive mainly from Soft Acrobatics and Contemporary Floorwork. Through guided creative explorations, we encourage individuality and the inherent artistry each student brings to the practice. By exploring opposing movement qualities, strength & control versus softness & fluidity, we aim to approach the full spectrum of movement, fostering a fluid, receptive, and responsive body.

In this class we explore how to move effortlessly by using gravity and the body’s natural weight to our advantage. We will practice smooth transitions across the floor and lift ourselves into inversions without unnecessary tension, finding ease in going upside-down and through acrobatic movements.
We will build confidence in floor work through grooving and grounding, with movements influenced by urban dance styles and dynamic actions such as rolling, jumping, and falling.
By expanding our physical comfort zone, we will discover new possibilities in movement and dance.

​Body Strata is a topic-based contemporary dance course exploring movement through different layers, perspectives, and states of being. Each session focuses on specific elements such as softness, contact with the floor, volume, awareness, unconscious movement, attention to specific body parts or actions, and imaginative tasks that guide the whole exploration towards new physical realities. 
Through guided improvisation, technique, and composition, we deepen our connection to the body, movement, and the joy of exploring endless possibilities.
